7 ans après la création du label, ALTSPHERE PRODUCTION passe un nouveau cap en se professionnalisant. Cela ne signifie en aucun cas perdre l’éthique Do It Yourself du label, mais plutôt essayer de sortir plus de productions et de meilleures qualités et  d’investir plus de temps et d’argent dans ce projet.

WOODEN STAKE / DRUID LORD split-7? [US doom metal split]
Après un premier EP sorti chez Hexamorphosis, WOODEN STAKE remet le couvert pour un sublime morceau d’horror occult doom metal. Et bien qu’il fasse sombre, impossible de rester de marbre en écoutant la voix douce mais incantatoire de Vanessa.
DRUID LORD sort à peine son premier album, mais, débordant d’énergie, voilà déjà un nouveau morceau de doom death prêt à faire vrombir les chaumières !

ASKMOOD « The weather » Digital [Rock with grunge & shoegaze touches]
Première album pour ce récent one-man band qui mélange à merveille des parties shoegaze et grunge à travers un rock direct qui semble avoir été taillé pour la radio avec des morceaux de moins de 4 minutes. Ces montées entêtantes raviront tout aussi les fans de Pearl Jam que ceux de Black Sabbath tant l’approche semble être inspiré par un psychédélisme certain. A cela s’ajoute une écriture fine et personnelle qui titube entre mélancolie et colère.

DWDY « Destroy me » 3" Cd-r [progressive & psychedelic crossover metal]
Première démo pour ce projet de métal progressif et psychédélique. Crossover entre une multitude de genres, du doom au thrash en passant par le HxC ou le rock, ce morceau de près de 20 minutes ne laisse jamais place à l’ennui et ravira n’importe quel metalhead. Que tu sois fan de Cathedral, Dream theater, Madball, Hawkwind ou Slayer, tu trouveras forcément quelque chose pour toi. Limité à 50 copies en mini-boîtier et numérotées main.

JeFF « Torment » Digipack-CD [Psychedelic indus ambient]
Boulimique et terroriste, Jeff est un personnage à part sur la scène musicale messine. A la fois autiste violent et esthète d'un univers qu'il s'est créé de toutes pièces névrotiques. (Flo /Don’t mess with Metz)
Après une discographie introspective sortie en janvier 2010, voici le premier album d’un JeFF « nouvelle ère ». Exit le metal-indus, les expérimentations noise-rock ou l’electro minimaliste, cette galette est simplement une fresque d’indus ambient psychédélique qui vous emmènera pour un long voyage dans les tréfonds de votre esprit.

Super retour du trio suèdois après 13 ans d'absence! Après la version CD sortie en 2009 chez I hate, c'est la version double vinyle et son poster A3 qui sortent enfin en juillet 2010. Des morceaux imparables de doom traditionnel agrémentés d'un chant façon Ozzy Osbourne en plein forme. A ne pas manquer!

Formé en 2003 ce duo allemand a pondu un split puis cet album en 2008. Suicidal black metal des grandes heures avec des passages à la SATYRICON même. Les jeux de voix sont nickels, elles se chevauchent, s’entremêlent, se dévorent puis se séparent, ce qui a retenu toute mon attention d’ailleurs…et là je me suis dit que ce BM sortait du lot…


PLAN E "Best kept secret" - Psyche Dark rock/wave - CD - 2004

Petite label italien qui fait dans les Cds de formations obscurs. PLAN E sort ici un dark rock aux influences psyché et prog. Niveau son c’est bien joué, ça sonne moderne et bien produit tout en ayant ces sonorités carrément 70’s. Oue ce synthé digne des mes favoris groupes de prog de la botte. Ces nappes de synthés, accentuées par cette voix monocorde, touchent à la new-wave. Souvent j’ai pensé à du JOY ou DEPECHE MODE…un bon mélange comme je les aime ! En plus y'a un ex-IMPLAED NAZARENE dans le lot.

Donc voici un superbe album de heavy doom comme les anciens savaient le faire, fait par des anciens qui savent le faire.
(...)Ce disque devrait ravir les fans de St Vitus, de Serpent, des premiers Black Sabbath, de Wytchfinder General et de Cathedral. Tous les ingrédients sont présents. Les riffs lourds, les solos aériens, les rythmes méga-lents, les tempos plus rapides, l’agressivité, la sensibilité. Le tout servi sur fond de satanisme bon enfant qui n’effraie même plus ma mère. Nous sommes donc en présence du quatrième album de Pentagram (seulement !) après cinq années de silence. (Desert-rock.com)

1. LABEL
Alors que les prochaines sorties se profilent à l'horizon pour la fin d'année 2010 et le tout début 2011 (ASKMOOD digitale, JeFF "Torment" digipack, DWDY 3" Cd-r, WOODEN STAKE/DRUID LORD split-7"), ALTSPHERE PRODUCTION annonce dès a présent que le label bénéficera à partir de février 2011 d'une distribution exclusive à l'internationale. En effet, CODE 7 (PLASTIC HEAD) sera le distributeur exclusif pour le Royaume-Uni et l'Irlande alors que TWILIGHT VERTRIEB s'occupera en exclusivité du reste du monde . ALTSPHERE assurera seulement une autodistribution en France.

Aux sorties déjà prévues s'ajoute, en mai 2011, le premier album de SURTR (traditional doom metal - Fra) qui s'intitulera "World of doom". La pochette de l'album sera réalisée par Christoph "Stripe" Schinzel (COUNT RAVEN, SODOM, ANVIL,...). Plus d'infos dans les prochains mois.

Le split-7" WOODEN STAKE/DRUID LORD split-7" sortira le 11 février. Ce sont deux groupes des Etats-Unis inspirées par les vieux films d'horreur. WOODEN STAKE joue un doom metal avec un chant féminin possédé et DRUID LORD joue du oldschool doom death metal entre ASPHYX et PENTAGRAM. Ecouter des extraits en ligne.

WOODEN STAKE : WOODEN STAKE joue du doom metal avec un sombre chant féminin possédé qui serpente comme des incantations. Duo de doom heavy, catchy et angoissant du Texas et de New-York. Ils ont sorti leur première démo en Septembre 2010.
DRUID LORD : Né dans le noyau marécageux de la Floride, Druid Lord s'est formé début 2011, notamment par Pete Slate du groupe cultre de Black/Death américain Equinox, ex-Incubus, dans le seul but de créer une musique lourde entre heavy doom et oldschool death metal. Les paroles s'inspirent des films d'horreur et de divers thèmes occultes.

Please support Alunah and check out this album, especially if you are a fan of female-fronted rock bands as I think Alunah are now right at the top of that pile of bands now.  9.5/10 (Doommantia)

Germany's Voodoo Shock (strange name, that) rose from ashes of former Rise Above act Naevus. Even if you've never heard Naevus, though, they'll sound familar, with Ozzy-ish vox singing songs full of wonderful doom/stoner cliches like "electric mind" and "rainbow sky". Slow to mid tempo, melodic but ultra heavy, this is in the style of Terra Firma, Sheavy, Trouble, Spirit Caravan, y'know the sort of thing. The riffs are weighty, but Voodoo Shock's perculiarity might be their penchant for spacey mellow parts. Also they cover "Nights In White Satin"! (Aquarius Records)

EMPEROR "Promotheus"  Tape - Technical death metal / Black metal - 2001

Much of this album is actually more along the lines of technical death than black metal in terms of guitar tones and riff structure, but there is still plenty of the darkest of genres left. Symphonic instruments provide atmosphere to nearly every crevice of the album, and the vocals, both black and clean, are done to absolute perfection. Also, every now and then, the guitars slip back into black metal territory. The occasional melodies are also done perfection, and are inserted at exactly the right moments. Being any more detailed than that would be really quite hard to do, as I honestly can's think of any good comparisons, including their own previous material. This is truly an album I?ve never, ever heard before. (Metalstorm)

So I highly recommend this album. It's all well-done and not once do I get the feeling that the band is approaching the style ironically. This is late 60s/early70s music performed by people that (I imagine) worship that era and take its sounds very seriously. If you like Jex's singing, and proto-doom and psychedelic music in general, there should be nothing keeping you from loving this. (Metalreview.com)

Like just about the entirety of the Grave Mistake roster, Deep Sleep play early `80s hardcore, though with more of an adolescent, scratchy vocal front and a much less abrasive coating. They're often compared to Descendents, and while I wouldn't have thought of the comparison myself, it makes sense to draw a parallel to Descendents' early work upon listening, though of course without the noticeably poppy or upbeat edge. Maybe a bit of Jerry's Kids is in here as well. (punknews.org)

Thergothon disbanded in 1993, before the eventual 1994 release of ‘Stream From the Heavens’ though over the years the band has earned a cult status in the underground through this single album. In the mid-later part of the 90's the "Funeral Doom" genre emerged. Thergothon was deemed as one of the originators of the sound & style and an important cornerstone for the whole genre.
